HyDEX is seeking opportunities for students to engage with the hydrogen sector and to have career building exposure to the diverse opportunities that hydrogen offers.

A joint offer from HyDEX skills and Loughborough University Careers network, which will provide a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in hydrogen technology sectors.

We are looking for organisations to provide students with project-based work, that can be completed as part of the micro-internship. The project work will ideally contribute to or relate to the hydrogen sector/economy. We would also welcome opportunities with a broader scope, for example in areas such as:

Hydrogen production optimization

Explore and implement innovative methods to enhance hydrogen production efficiency. This may involve the utilization of renewable energy sources, advanced electrolysis techniques, or other novel approaches.

Hydrogen Infrastructure Planning

Work on projects related to the planning and design of hydrogen infrastructure. This could include assessing feasibility, conducting site surveys, and proposing strategies for the implementation of hydrogen refueling stations.

Hydrogen storage solutions

Investigate and develop improved hydrogen storage technologies. This could include the exploration of materials for high-capacity storage, development of storage systems, or optimization of existing storage methods.

Hydrogen Safety Awareness

Identify and assess risks associated with the hydrogen value chain. Develop mitigation strategies to reduce identified risks, and emergency response plans for hydrogen-related incidents. Engage with stakeholders including regulatory agencies to understand hydrogen safeguards.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Contribute to the advancement of hydrogen fuel cell technologies, focusing on improving performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness. This may involve experimental work, data analysis, and collaboration with experts in the field.
